Willow Crest Winery and Browne Family Vineyards take WA State Wine Competition best varietal trophies

Congratulations to Willow Crest Winery and Browne Family Vineyards!

These two wineries, both in the Precept family, were among six best-of-variety trophy winners in the Washington State Wine Competition 2014, hosted in Yakima, WA at the Central Washington State Fair!

Willow Crest Winery took the best white wine and the Governor’s Trophy for its estate grown 2012 Riesling. The grapes are grown and wine is made on the Minick estate in the Yakima Valley; it’s one of the few “no barrel” all-aromatic white facilities in the state of Washington. The Minick family has been growing vinifera on the property since 1982.

Browne Family Vineyards is the namesake of Precept Wine CEO Andrew Browne. The first-time entry of its just-releasing 2011 Merlot (Columbia Valley), the wine took the best-of-category and the Andy Markin trophy. Browne Family Vineyards draws from the finest sources in the Columbia Valley, including Alder Ridge Vineyard, Canyon Vineyard Ranch and Skyfall Vineyard.

Congratulations to these fine winemakers, holding their own in esteemed company!
