Washington state’s second largest wine company changes name to reflect the scope of its business operations
SEATTLE, June 1, 2011-Precept Wine Brands announced today it will change its company name to Precept Wine, effective immediately. The new name illustrates the scope of Precept’s business as the Northwest’s largest family-owned wine company.
“The change signals our evolution from a marketing and sales focused organization to a fully integrated wine company with vineyards, production facilities and tasting rooms,” said CEO and founder Andrew Browne. “Since we started, in 2003, we have made key acquisitions and formed partnerships to become the company we are today.”
Precept Wine is the Northwest’s second largest wine company and owns/partners with more than 40 wines brands throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Australia. The company’s largest brands include Waterbrook, Magnificent Wine Company (House Wine, in partnership with winemaker Charles Smith), Washington Hills, Sagelands and Canoe Ridge Vineyard.
“It is incredible to look back and see how our business has grown over the past eight years,” said Browne. “We look forward to the next chapter in our company’s history.”
Included in Precept Wine’s new identity is a revamped logo and website, www.preceptwine.com.
