Precept Wine Announces New Appointments To Its Expanding Sales Team

SEATTLE – July 31, 2019 — In pursuit of a world-class team to meet customer demands and propel company growth, Precept Wine Chief Sales Officer Dan Ewer announced the additions of several new and promoted sales team members:

Zack Hilfman, Senior Vice President of Sales, Strategic Development

Based at Precept Wine Seattle headquarters, Hilfman will be responsible for key brands and national initiatives between Precept Wine and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS). He will provide support and activation with national off-premise and on-premise sales teams, catalyzing the SGWS network and emerging markets. He previously served as vice president of sales for the Northwest Division at SGWS. Hilfman reports directly to Chief Sales Officer Dan Ewer. A Seattle native, he graduated from the University of Washington with a business marketing degree and a sales certificate from the Foster School of Business. He also completed the Dale Carnegie training course and is a certified trainer.

Travis Post, Key Account Manager-Gulf

Dallas-based Post will manage key accounts for Precept Wine across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Missouri. Most recently he served as director of chain retail for Texas-based Victory Wine Group. Starting in 2014, Post ascended in responsibility while at the Dallas hub of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits: from sales representative, to district sales manager in 2015, to division manager in 2017. He reports to Senior Vice President-West Taylor Hardman. Post earned his speech communications degree from Peru State College (Peru, Nebraska).

Jamie Young, Illinois State Territory Manager

With nearly 15 years of sales and marketing expertise in both the beer and entertainment industry, Mr. Young will oversee Key Accounts and all sales channels for Precept Wine within Illinois. Most recently Young directed sales for craft brewer Midnight Pig. He spent more than five years as a marketing manager with Pic Entertainment, ascending to national marketing manager, and served in progressive sales roles for Molson Canada from 2005-2011. He is based in Chicago and reports to Midwest Regional Manager Cara Fowler. Young earned his business administration degree from Ontario, Canada-based Brock University.

Jami Klicker, promoted to Washington On-Premise Territory Manager

Previously part of Precept Wine’s retail division since 2017, Klicker managed the Browne Family Vineyards Seattle tasting room and prior to that she assistant-managed its Walla Walla flagship tasting room. Klicker’s affinity for sales has poised her for the challenge of representing the entire Precept Wine portfolio to on-premise accounts throughout the state. Klicker has additional experience in banking and airline-related customer care. She reports to Washington State Manager Brady Zurn. She earned her general business management degree from Eastern Washington University.

Carrie Lackie, Order Processing Supervisor

An extension of sales operations, Lackie joined Precept Wine this spring as its Order Processing Supervisor, reporting to Executive Vice President of Sales and Logistics Kirk Brewer. Under her charge she leads Grape & Grain orders, monitors companywide shipping, inventory, returns and warehousing, handles Costco direct and closeout programs, provides Seattle sales support, and oversees two order processing coordinators. Lackie previously served in a similar role with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits for more than seven years. She is a graduate of Eastern Washington University.

“These individuals represent the best in their respective fields, and they understand that achieving customer nirvana means being thorough and highly responsive,” Ewer said. “We regard ourselves as creative consultants, which demands tailored problem-solving and superior communication; these are the people who give us our competitive edge and I’m thrilled to have them on the Precept team.”
