Wall Street Journal wine columnist Lettie Teague selected a lineup of American wine recommendations for Thanksgiving, based on her own independent purchases and tasting session with a panel of friends.
Sawtooth 2011 Riesling made her list, with the comment:
Idaho
“The state that gave this country its favorite potatoes does an increasingly good job with popular grapes, such as Riesling. The Sawtooth winery (seemingly named after the mountain range) is located in Idaho’s Snake River Valley region and turns out both reds and whites. The 2011 Sawtooth Riesling is a bright, pleasant off-dry wine with tropical fruit notes and a very fair price.”
Riesling and turkey, go for it!
