A little olive and herb layered under big black currant, black cherry fruit and fine cigar box oak greets the nose. This is a big wine, smooth, rich and supple with ripe tannins showing some polish under juicy black plum and really ripe blackcurrant jam flavors flecked with a little tobacco. Long and full in the mouth this is polished, fleshy and showy with lovely tannins driving the long finish which shows palate staining intensity of fruit. This is basically ready to rock today.
Nice herbal, savory, classic varietally driven aromas on the nose with cool, focused aromas of black currant fruit that are tight and vanilla edged. Opening with great clarity on the palate, the fruit here leads off with savory herb stem and tobacco notes that lend fine complexity and real detail on the palate, rich with black cherry and black currant fruit. The tannins are nicely firm but not imposing with acids that are a touch soft but supportive through the long black fruited finish that shows off a hint of black olive and plenty of wood spice.
"Soft vanilla oak nose; smooth, juicy and fresh with clean, ripe fruit; fresh plum and black raspberry with soft oak notes; balanced, lush and long."
This Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby and displays
very ripe earthy plum and cassis aromas with toasty
notes. It has concentrated dark fruit flavors on the palate with earthy and charred oak highlights. A big wine with firm tannins on the finish.
"The crisp tannins up front yield to a silky texture, featuring black cherry, plum and tobacco flavors. The finish lingers well. Exhibits depth and power, promising to gain with cellaring."
An aromatic entry promises plums, cassis and blackberries. In the mouth, some figgy fruit flavors coalesce around barrel notes of toast and roasted coffee. Drinking well but cellar-worthy for another 6-8 years. - Paul Gregutt, Wine Enthusiast, July 2011
A savory noise of white pepper and dried herbs gives way to supple, juicy cherry flavors. It's marked by fine tannins and a hint of seed spice on the finish. - Wine & Spirits, December 2010
Silky, smooth and spicy with plum, cassis and blackberry; juicy, fresh and nicely structured; long and balanced.
This exceptionally dark purple and ruby color hints at its concentration of fruit, structure and youth, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon displays classic aromas of creme de cassis, red currant, blueberry, cedar, vanilla cream and black olive. Superb acid, big bold structure, and integrated tannins give way to a rich dark fruit profile and a finish that is persistent and toasty.
