  • A Case for Thanksgiving Wine

    Copyright Great Northwest Wine (excerpted).

Looking for a Thanksgiving wine? Great Northwest Wine calls out a baker’s dozen of options (and it’s not the usual suspects). Among them:

Waterbrook 2012 Sangiovese Rosé Best Buy! Sangiovese is still a niche grape in the Northwest, but it is proving its worth both as a red wine and a dry rosé. It’s bright, crisp and perfect with a variety of lighter foods. It opens with aromas of orange zest, rose hip, salmonberry and pink grapefruit. On the palate, it leads with a tart entry with flavors of pomegranate, raspberry, strawberry and rhubarb.  We’d pair this with salmon, grilled chicken or pasta tossed with grilled veggies.

    Rating: Excellent
Pairings: Rice, squash and even cranberry sauce will work well with this tasty rosé.
    Production: 3,200 cases
    Alcohol: 12%
