    JOB TITLE: QUALITY CONTROL TECH, WALLA WALLA, WA 

    Precept Wine is the largest privately-owned wine company in the Northwest. We’re seamlessly integrated to run our own vineyards, wineries and world-class tasting rooms. Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill an immediate opening for the Quality Control Tech at our Waterbrook Winery in Walla Walla, WA.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Perform specific duties and responsibilities based on standard operating procedures, good laboratory practices, good manufacturing practices to ensure the consistency and quality of our products
    • Perform quality control analysis of finished goods, and other materials as required
    • Is knowledgeable of particular scientific instrumentation techniques
    • Follow laboratory standard operating procedures; attention to detail is essential
    • Complete and maintain all required documentation for procedures, recording work and results.
    • Monitor and insures compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures
    • Perform basic and routine analytical on tank samples, finished goods to verify accurate results and consistencies
    • Procure all supplies needed to perform required duties and notify lead/supervisor of any issues or needs
    • Keep other personnel informed as to the status of analysis, lab supplies and equipment usages
    • Able to follow all QC Department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’S) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other policies and procedures established by company
    • Takes initiative to make sound decisions in their work, communicate with operator/line lead of any adjustments that need to be made to bring quality back into specifications
    • Ensures all tasks for finalization of controlled documents are completed and saved on share drive for easy access
    • Make a positive contribution to achieving departmental performance targets for safety, product quality and throughput by operating within specified procedures
    • Ensure that all bottling line documents are completed accurately prior to the day of production.
    • Involve daily communication with management, Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse and all employees necessary in the operations process
    • Visually inspect products and or operations to insure quality of products and or work.
    • Safety awareness, identify and correct conditions that effect employee safety, uphold safety standards, notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions
    • Ensuring compliance to product safety procedures and report and take corrective actions for product safety and incidents within specified limits
    • Assist with departmental needs and vacancies
    • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

    Skills and Requirements:

    • Must be able to read, understand and comply with the SDS sheets
    • Ability to work an 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours to meet business requirements
    • 3+ years assisting leads with QC productions.
    • Experience working with all major winery BoM’s structure
    • Strong organization skills and closer attention to detail
    • Prior experience is highly desirable including working knowledge
    • Ability to identify business process improvements and report existing deficiencies to management
    • Experience with authoring Standard Operating Procedures

     

    JOB TITLE: LINE OPERATOR, WALLA WALLA, WA 

    Precept Wine is the largest privately owned wine company in the Northwest. We’re seamlessly integrated to run our own vineyards, wineries and world-class tasting rooms. Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill an immediate opening for the Line Operator at our Waterbrook Winery in Walla Walla, WA.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Make a positive contribution to achieving departmental performance targets for safety, product quality and throughput by operating within specified procedures
    • Oversee daily activities of assigned shift, use high degree of concentration and thorough knowledge of the operations process to lead employees
    • Monitor, measure and adjust to help reduce labor cost, high waste, reduce downtime/change over times, increase line efficiency and throughputs
    • Assist in developing and implementing an aggressive cross training program to improve overall bench strength for all production lines
    • Ensure that all bottling line documents are completed accurately prior to the day of production
    • Involve daily communication with management, Quality Control, Maintenance, Warehouse and all employees necessary in the operations process
    • Plan, coordinate and advise production employees of work to be completed daily
    • Oversee daily set up of machinery and equipment prior to production for efficient and effective operations
    • Monitor production process to insure expected cases and efficiencies are met, receive and resolve operations problems for production lines
    • Visually inspect products and or operations to insure quality of products and or work
    • Safety awareness, Identify and correct conditions that effect employee safety, uphold safety standards and notify supervisor of any unsafe conditions
    • Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality product that meets regulatory and company requirements
    • Ensuring compliance to product safety procedures and report and take corrective actions for product safety and incidents within specified limits
    • Plan and direct established sanitation activities while following all company policies and procedures and keep work area clean at all times

    Skills and Requirements:

    • Read, understand and comply to the SDS sheets
    • Excellent communication skills
    • 1-2 years of manufacturing experience
    • Ability to work an 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours to meet business requirements
    • Able to work night shifts when need it
    • Able to stand for long periods of time
    • Must work well under minimal supervision

     

    JOB TITLE: BOTTLING LINE, WALLA WALLA, WA

    Precept Wine is the largest privately owned wine company in the Northwest. We’re seamlessly integrated to run our own vineyards, wineries and world-class tasting rooms. Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill an immediate opening for the bottling line at our Waterbrook Winery in Walla Walla, WA.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Verify all necessary equipment in place prior to bottling
    • Confirm all label height and spacing according to measurements
    • Supply all dump tables full of glass when supply is low
    • Validate case labeler is labeling every case individually and accurately
    • Responsible for general housekeeping duties and maintaining a sanitary work area
    • Complete all job functions following proper safety requirements and quality control
    • Notifying Line Lead or QC of glass breakage at dump tables
    • Take part in clean up and preventative maintenance activates
    • Work different parts of the line in a rotation accurately
    • Clean all glue off glue machine and any foreign material off the floor
    • Conduct basic inspection of all moving components during operations
    • Other general bottling line duties an assigned by manager

    Skills and Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to consistently lift 40-50 pounds
    • High school diploma or FED equivalent
    • Work extended hours and weekend when needed
    • Ability to work 10 hour days
    • Able to stand for long periods of time
    • Must work well under minimal supervision
    • Able to cross train with all bottling line functions

     

    JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, WALLA WALLA, WA

    Precept Wine is the largest privately owned wine company in the Northwest. We’re seamlessly integrated to run our own vineyards, wineries and world-class tasting rooms. Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Walla Walla, WA at our Waterbrook Winery location.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Ensures operations on all machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on all winery production machines
    • Controls downtime by informing winery production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques, monitoring compliance
    • Provides mechanical maintenance resources by answering questions and requests
    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with regulations, rules and procedures
    • Perform upgrades with new equipment and technology in a timely manner
    • Provides emergency unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production
    • Oversee special projects and outside contractors
    • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, schematics and blue prints to perform required maintenance and service
    • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
    • Ordering and sourcing maintenance parts
    • Perform changeovers and complete all associated paperwork
    • Report to work in a clean and neat uniform at scheduled starting time
    • Perform job duties adhering to quality specifications and policies

    Ideal candidate will have:

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
    • Good understanding of electrical controls and plumbing from waterlines and valves
    • Solid understand and operating skills on all machine equipment
    • Must be a skilled and trained machine operator
    • Basic experience with mig and tig welding
    • Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis
    • Advanced understanding of hand and power tools
    • Be required to follow direction from supervisor and company rules and regulations
    • Obligation for working weekends, holiday and mandatory overtime
    • Previous work experience

    JOB TITLE: PACKAGING COORDINATOR, WALLA WALLA, WA 

    Position Summary:

    Precept Wine is searching for a wine Packaging Coordinator. This position will work in the operations department and report to the Supply Chain Manager. He or she will play a key role in facilitating the production of dry goods needed for bottling at multiple wineries across the Northwest. This position works closely with the marketing department, wine cellar, and bottling hall in coordinating the needs of production, primarily wine packaging, to ensure operations are efficient and seamless. 

    The Packaging Coordinator will be responsible for approvals of artwork, schedule and system amendments, process system implementation, and above all an open line of communications with all levels of the company. This person will take ownership of the purchasing and development of set packaging materials while adhering to lean manufacturing principals.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Keeps an open line of communication with the design and marketing departments regarding the specific needs of a program
    • Facilitate design concepts from Precept to it’s vendors and the approval of artwork proofs
    • Purchase order submission for products
    • Creation of item numbers and general inventory management in the ERP database
    • Keeping project need dates on track by understanding and communicating lead times to all parties, both internal and external
    • Coming up with innovative and dynamic solutions to production obstacles that arise from any given project
    • Reviewing and adhering to cost of goods sold budgets for any given production
    • Monitoring incoming package goods dates to ensure timing needs are met while balancing warehouse space
    • Creating SOP’s and systems within the department to continuously increase efficiencies
    • Work with the winemaking teams to get accurate information for wine labels and confirm government compliance on verbiage
    • Provide guidance to the bottling team on the needs of any given program
    • Miscellaneous reporting for inventory, production, costs, and forecasting

    Qualifications:

    • 2-5 years’ purchasing, operations, or sales experience
    • Bachelor or associate degree preferred
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and DropBox

    JOB TITLE: PUBLIC RELATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER – SEATTLE

    Precept Wine is searching for a dynamic Public Relations & Communications Manager to work with our passionate team and extraordinary portfolio of brands. He or she will direct the company’s communications strategy and will develop trade and consumer communications initiatives at all levels of the company. The right candidate will have the ability to use their public relations skills and their journalistic knowledge to further grow and develop the reputation of Precept Wine and its wineries. The ideal person will possess extensive contacts and relationships in the wine public relations world, both in trade and lifestyle publications at local and national levels

    The Public Relations & Communications Manager is responsible for the execution and implementation of marketing efforts, communications programs, and public relations functions. He or she will serve as a key representative while collaborating with brand management, retail and hospitality, alliances, and internal stakeholders to ultimately increase sales and brand awareness.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Writes press releases and works with media to develop story ideas and exposure for our brands/Precept Wine. Responds to media inquiries and pitches stories as appropriate.
    • Oversees media sample shipment process, from bottling to winemaker communication on readiness, to timing with brand managers respective to current inventory, to ordering in samples via wine room coordinator, working with brand managers to compile fact sheets and planning relevant media recipients.
    • Serves as a key liaison for state wine and grower commissions, travel organizations and trade interests affecting the wine industry.
    • Develops and maintains positive media relationships, locally and nationally.
    • Cultivates and refreshes internal media contact databases.
    • Provide support on copywriting for all company-based outlets: newsletters, website, labels, flyers, POS materials, etc.
    • Oversee, with collaboration of brand managers, select winery and company social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
    • Oversee event lineup and hospitality (trade, consumer, executive) with daily activation by Public Relations and Events Specialist.
    • Writes new hire announcements for hiring manager to disseminate
    • Audits posted publication scores and records them into an internal tracker
    • Facilitates and hosts media visits, sets up media interviews, etc.
    • Works with brand managers to activate production of acclaim-specific marketing materials, including acclaim sell sheets, shelf talkers, and educational materials.
    • Identifies and implements communication methods to build brand exposure, enhance positioning, and gain awareness in the marketplace.
    • Assists with communications and collateral needs (e.g. letters, collateral assets and emails) geared toward key distributors, trade partners, key accounts, etc.
    • Develops and/or supplements communications materials to supplement sales programs, promotions, sales presentations, etc.
    • Leverages sponsorships and promotions to maximize each opportunity.
    • Responsible for weekly acclaim report and will work to reactivate internal newsletter, The Juice.
    • Refreshes and audits information about the company and its brands on third-party pages, such as Google, Yelp, and wine alliance sites.
    • Attends key flagship events and assists at events where needed.

    Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:

    • 5-10+ years Marketing and Communications experience
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, CisionPoint, TradePulse, WordPress websites, DropBox and social channels.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to take multiple projects from concept to execution, accompanied by the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

    JOB TITLE: TASTING ROOM ASSOCIATE, BROWNE FAMILY VINEYARDS – WALLA WALLA 

    The Tasting Room Associate will consistently provide above-and-beyond customer service while employing effective selling techniques in a team environment.  Meet or exceed operational standards and strengthen daily operations by working cooperatively with the Tasting Room Manager and members of the management team.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

    • Provide a welcoming atmosphere and unique tasting experience to all guests
    • Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history
    • Effectively suggest and sell wine
    • Encourage wine club sales and promote membership
    • Communicate with a diverse clientele
    • Create a memorable experience for customer
    • Accurately handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash register and accounting of daily sales; processing returns, discounts, etc.

    INTERNSHIP POSITIONS
