    Accounts Payable Lead

    DESIRED QUALITIES

    We’re looking for a hands-on Accounts Payable Supervisor that is looking to move to a friendly and team-oriented department at a fast paced and ever-changing company. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for his or her new role and a strong desire to learn; the ability to take ownership of a process and run with it is a must. We’re looking for the right person to step into this role and grow with the Company.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Hiring, training, motivating and evaluating AP staff
    • Developing, implementing and improving departmental policies with an eye towards accuracy and efficiency
    • Take part in regular departmental activities such as invoice entry, check/payment processing, month-end processes, etc.
    • Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies as needed
    • Maintain accurate and complete vendor records
    • Record information needed for year-end 1099 reports and assist in preparation of 1099 tax forms
    • Support accounting group with various duties as assigned

    SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

    • 3 plus years of Accounts Payable experience
    • Detail-oriented and well-organized
    • Experience with MS office, Outlook and Excel preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred
    • Ability to multitask and work towards a deadline

    Lab Tech, Walla Walla WA

    Precept Wine is the largest privately owned wine company in the Northwest. We’re seamlessly integrated to run our own vineyards, wineries and world-class tasting rooms. Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill an immediate opening for a Lab Tech in a high volume production laboratory. This is the right opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic looking for experience in the wine industry.

    Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

    • Performing daily analyses on juice and wine samples
    • Performing analyses using a variety of manual and automated methods
    • Setting up and reading of wine microbiology
    • Testing incoming grapes for ripeness
    • Assisting in the setup of tastings and trials
    • Following standard operating procedures; writing or editing procedures.
    • Following laboratory safety procedures
    • Properly maintaining instruments and test systems.
    • Maintaining accurate records and performing accurate data entry
    • Maintaining an organized and clean working environment
    • Other duties as assigned by Winemakers and Lab Manager

    Skills and Requirements:

    Product Development Coordinator 

    Precept Wine is searching for a dynamic Product Development Coordinator to project manage new product development and innovation for the company. The Product Development Coordinator is someone who can prioritize their workload, mitigate and alleviate potential roadblocks, and has a proven track record of on-time deliveries with projects. This role reports to the Director of Marketing Operations and Product Development and will work in close partnership with the Brand Management, Design, Operations, and Production teams.

     

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Support new product development and innovation from ideation to production
    • Initiate New Product Approval and Package Change Request forms with all relevant project information
    • Process new product development projects and innovation ideas onto Airtable for tracking
    • Consistent research of current consumer behaviors
    • Continuous knowledge of competitive landscape and competitive launches – what is selling, where is innovation going, where is it missing
    • Research and understand trends within the alcohol industry using Nielsen data and industry news
    • Maintain and manage needs from the competitive set inventory
    • General administrative support for the CMO including calendar management and task lists
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Background in Business, Marketing and/or Communication; additional background in the wine industry is encouraged
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Experience with project management platforms a plus

    Battle Creek Tasting Room Associate, Portland OR

Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill an immediate opening for a Tasting Room Associate at our Battle Creek Cellars Tasting room in the Pear District in Portland, Oregon. The Tasting Room Associate reports directly to the Tasting Room Manager.

    The Tasting Room Associate will consistently provide above-and-beyond customer service while employing effective selling techniques in a team environment.  Meet or exceed operational standards and strengthen daily operations by working cooperatively with the Tasting Room Manager and members of the management team.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Provide a welcoming atmosphere and unique tasting experience to all guests
    • Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history
    • Effectively suggest, recommend and sell wine and wine club memberships
    • Be a team player and work in concert with colleagues and management team
    • Communicate with a diverse clientele
    • Create a memorable experience for customers

    Inventory Staff Accountant

    • Ownership of vineyard financial reports, include general ledger accounting

    • Serve as backup for preparation of certain excise tax returns
    • Support accounting group with various duties as assigned

    SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS 

    • 0-2 years of accounting experience
    • BA/BS in accounting
    • Ability to travel intermittently (less than 5%)
    • Solid understanding of US GAAP and accounting concepts

    Order Coordinator

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for timely and accurate processing purchase orders and communicating with purchasing agents, warehouses and sales reps
    • Main customer service contact for assigned warehouses and within distributor network
    • Proactively follow up on any customer issues (billbacks, credit memos, etc).
    • Monitor all monthly shipments and follow up with carriers
    • Dispatch orders to freight companies
    • Manage new item roll outs as it relates to orders, inventory management and shipping for key accounts
    • High level of cross departmental communication with the pricing, logistics, marketing, sales and accounting
    • Coordinate with sales regarding order status, shipping dates, issues, and product availability
    • Oversee warehouse inventory as it relates to orders and shipping
    • Solid understanding of warehouse inventory counts and run rate reporting
    • Extreme attention to detail required to ensure accuracy of orders.
    • Perform all inventory warehouse tie-outs for accounting
    • Maintain and communicate all wine allocations, points of display tracking, and inventory holds
    • Assist Director of Sales Logistics in projects and sample sending
    • Obtain additional information as necessary from different departments in the company
